Leonard focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution. Prior to joining CMB, Leonard was a patent examiner at the USPTO, and practiced at a large patent counseling firm in Washington D.C.
Leonard's technological experience spans a variety of fields, from simple mechanical matters to complex electrical and computer inventions.
In addition to counseling clients regarding patent prosecution in the USPTO, Leonard also provides clients with legal opinions regarding patentability, freedom-to-operate, invalidity, and noninfringement issues. He also guides clients through intellectual property litigations, provides IP valuation services, polices unauthorized use of client trademarks, and negotiates complex licensing agreements concerning intellectual property and other company assets.
